It felt dumb, but at least, everything is fast, super fast. One time I reached the last fight of a chapter, killed a bunch of enemies, teleported at the other side of the map because there was one mission I forgot, then came back and had to do stuff again thanks to the changes occurred in the newer accomplished mission. Though the last one could be seem as a bother, it also added some diversity, like "Properly invade the enemy fort before sunrising, enemies have low visibility at night" and stuff, they are nice missions to complete.ĭW9 is Open World, it has a completely different gameplay, some love, some hate (I'm in the love side), it has good and bad points, and even thought there is passage of time, they are pretty much irrelevant to missions and stuff, day and night pretty much only changes AI behavior, as it's easier to sneak past enemies at night. In a way, we could consider it the prototype for making DW9, but though I didn't play it very much (It runs pretty bad overall, and graphical glitches sometimes.), I must say, it didn't feel very good to play, as in, "Run around the city and talk with people, advance story, go through multiple small maps until you reach your battlefield, now we have passage of time, so don't be late!". Spirit of Sanada has similar gameplay, but it adds some exploration. They are quite heavy, however, both are quite different from the older ones: If your PC is a little more pumped-up, you can try Dynasty Warriors 9 and Samurai Warriors Spirit of Sanada. Some other musou games like One Piece Pirate Warriors 3įate/Extella is not Musou (games made by Koei), but it is Musou-like (Similar gameplay style). If you are looking at older games-like gameplay, your options are:ĭynasty Warriors 8 (Xtreme Legends or Empires, whatever your preferred flavor is)
